The Historical Society’s “Greenfield Hall Speakeasy” scheduled for Saturday January 25 is officially SOLD OUT!

In honor of the 100th anniversary of the start of Prohibition, the Historical Society of Haddonfield will be creating a new pop-up display about alcohol and temperance for our next “First Sunday” hours on February 2 from 1-3 pm.

We will be pulling out a sampling of museum and archival objects that help illustrate the theme, including flasks and decanters, research about early taverns in the area, wine recipes, and materials about temperance efforts in Haddonfield and beyond. The pop-up display will be on view in the first floor of Greenfield Hall, 343 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield.

As with other “First Sundays,” the Historical Society will be offering our usual tours of Greenfield Hall, and the Archives Center and Research Library next door in the Samuel Mickle House will be open for researchers by request.

The pop-up display will continue through most of February and be available for viewing during Greenfield Hall’s public hours (Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1-4 pm) or by special appointment at another time.

The Historical Society of Haddonfield will be closed on Friday November 29 for the holiday. We will reopen on Sunday December 1 from 1-3 pm as part of our “First Sunday” open house, which will include a pop-up display and other special activities focused on “Harvest Time in Haddonfield.”
