Book Club Plans Virtual Discussion for January 25

November 19, 2020 Book Club No Comments

The Historical Society’s Book Club is planning a virtual get-together for its January 25, 2021 discussion.

We’ll be meeting Monday January 25 at 7 pm via Zoom.us, in conjunction with the Haddonfield Public Library’s Book Club. We’ll be discussing The Warmth of Other Suns, by Isabel Wilkerson.

This nonfiction book chronicles the decades-long “Great Migration” of African Americans fleeing the South for northern and western cities in search of a better life. Wilkerson’s book is a National Book Critics Circle Award winner, and at least 12 publications named it one of the best books of the year when it was published. The New Yorker calls it a “deeply affecting, finely crafted and heroic book,” and the Wall Street Journal calls it a “brilliant and stirring epic.”

The Book Club discussion will be held as a Zoom.us video chat. If you’re interested in joining us, please RSVP to info@haddonfieldhistory.org and we’ll send you the Zoom link (and some basic instructions) the day of the discussion.
