Support the Historical Society on #GivingTuesday

News

On #GivingTuesday, we hope you’ll consider making a special gift to the Historical Society of Haddonfield. You can donate through our Facebook page, or click “donate” on the right side of this web page.

This year has certainly required a number of adaptations to our daily lives, and our work here at the Historical Society of Haddonfield is no exception.

Yet, we are proud of how our amazing staff and volunteers have pivoted to virtual programming and educational outreach over the last eight months. Even though we are currently closed to visitors, we continue to share Haddonfield’s history with students, residents, and visitors — through our virtual field trip photographs and videos on Facebook, our virtual programs and Book Club discussions, and other “Haddonfield History @ Home” content we’ve pulled together during this extraordinary time.

We also created new family-friendly activities such as the Haddonfield Virtual Frog Race and the Halloween Scavenger Hunt, which led more than 130 participants through downtown Haddonfield during the month of October.

However, this year has also been tough on our finances. We have had to cancel or postpone fundraising events and invest in new digital tools to support virtual programming. Meanwhile, our two historic buildings, Greenfield Hall and the Samuel Mickle House, require ongoing investment to ensure that they are preserved for generations to come. Greenfield Hall needs a new roof on the main section of the building, as well as repairs to the third-floor dormers and roof-top balustrades.

Now, more than ever, we need you.

Would you consider making a special year-end gift to help us preserve Haddonfield’s history? Your tax-deductible gift of $50, $100 or more will make an immediate difference for the Historical Society’s work.

Thank you in advance for your support.
