Historical Society Celebrates 100th Anniversary of Women’s Suffrage
Thanks to all who joined us for the Historical Society of Haddonfield’s virtual celebration of women’s suffrage on August 26th, the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment.
Independent historian Lisa Hendrickson shared some of her research into local suffragists like Bertha Shippen Irving, Marvel Dansbery, and others. We then joined the national Toast to Tenacity virtual event, which was live streamed at www.women100.org.
The Historical Society of Haddonfield was one of eight featured groups that made a toast during the program. Historical Society Board President Charlene Creed raised a glass in honor of all those from South Jersey who helped win passage of the 19th amendment.
