Greenfield Hall front doors lo resIt’s holiday time at the Historical Society of Haddonfield. The holiday season comes alive this winter at Greenfield Hall, the ancestral home of John Gill and now the headquarters of the Historical Society.

Stop by our Holiday Open House on Sunday, December 13th from 12pm to 4pm. Local crafters will be demonstrating their talents and selling their wares, including handspun yarns by Irene Charney, baskets handwoven by Inger Bullock, handwoven textiles by Dianne Snodgrass, and the Broom Squire Dr. Sam Moyer.

We’ll also be selling Society publications like Haddonfield on the Move, Elizabeth Haddon Estaugh, and Lost Haddonfield. We’ll have a table of collectibles and attic treasures for sale, and a handful of boxwood balls available for those who did not pre-order them. Hope you can join us.

Two sizes this year: The small ball measures 7”x 9” and costs $20. The large ball measures 8” x 10” and costs $25.00 *They are flat on the back so they can be hung on a door or window.

These boxwood balls are an HSH tradition, available this year by pre-order only. They will be ready for pick up at our Holly Festival on Sunday, Dec. 13th from 12-4 pm or by prearranged pick-up.

Haunted Haddonfield Walking Tours

  • Cost: $5.00 children $10.00 adults
  • Tours start at 7pm at Greenfield Hall, 343 Kings Highway East

Join us on a walking tour of Old Haddonfield as author William Meehan, Jr. regales us with ghost stories and legends from his popular paperback, Haunted Haddonfield. The tour begins at 7 p.m. at Greenfield Hall and winds past the cemetery and familiar homes along the way. The tour lasts about 60 minutes and can be enjoyed by everyone: couples, groups and families.

Tickets can be purchased at the door (cash only) or ahead of time at Greenfield Hall, The Haddonfield Public Library, or the Haddonfield Visitor Center. There are no rain dates, but tickets can be used on any of the tour dates.

Please remember to wear comfortable walking shoes, bring a flashlight and wear somewhat reflective clothing as a safety precaution.

*Proceeds benefit Historical Society and Haddonfield Library.

Please join us for our Fall Garden Clean up at Greenfield Hall gardens this Saturday October 3rd. We have many beautiful plantings that need pruning and upkeep so that our entire community can enjoy them. Clean up will be from 9am – 12pm noon. Bring your garden gloves and rake!
